I am a
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) located in Olney, MD. As
you embark on choosing a therapist, a skills group, or psychotherapy group, I
hope you find the information in this website helpful in making your decision.
I work with adults
and adolescents with trauma related disorders including Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Disorders including Dissociative Identity
Disorder (DID, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder), mood
disorders, anxiety disorders, and Borderline Personality Disorder. My
therapeutic approach usually involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or
Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), though I may use other theories or
approaches depending on the needs of the client and the therapeutic process.
my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland in
September of 2003. I continued my education at Loyola University Maryland and
became licensed as an LCPC in December of 2008.
I have over
ten years of clinical experience working with trauma survivors in inpatient,
partial hospitalization, and outpatient settings. While employed at Sheppard
Pratt Health System, I received extensive training on Trauma Disorders and how
to work with individuals struggling to manage a variety of symptoms. I led several
groups, both on the Trauma Inpatient Unit as well as in the Trauma Day
Hospital, including symptom management skills for PTSD and Dissociation, group
psychotherapy, and DBT skills. In February 2004 I transitioned to private practice and began working with clients in individual therapy as well
as starting my outpatient DBT skills group.
I am a
patient and caring person who sees my clients as individuals, not just as their
diagnosis. I am able to see the potential that each of my clients has,
especially when they are unable to see it or believe it themselves. I
ultimately want to help my clients gain self-awareness and approach life mindfully
so they may make the needed changes in their lives to develop the life they
ultimately want to live.

any questions you would like to discuss with me. I look forward to hearing from
